I cannot enable alerts in Monitoro Setup

During setup, you might encounter an issue when enabling Monitoro Alerts. Identify your issue below for troubleshooting steps.

"Looks like push notifications are currently disabled."

If you're not receiving push notifications as expected, it might be due to browser permissions being accidentally disabled. Follow these steps to check and enable push notification permissions:

For Chrome:

  1. Open Chrome and click on the three dots in the upper-right corner to open the menu.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Privacy and security > Site Settings.

  3. Scroll down to Permissions and click on Notifications.

  4. Look for the Monitoro site in the list and click on it.

  5. Change the permission to Allow for notifications.

For Edge:

  1. Open Edge and click on the three dots in the upper-right corner to access the menu.

  2. Go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Notifications.

  3. Under Allow, look for the Monitoro site, or click on Add to manually add the site.

  4. Enter the site URL and click Add, then set the permission to Allow.

For Brave:

  1. Open the Brave browser and click on the menu icon in the upper-right corner (three horizontal lines).

  2. Select Settings from the menu.

  3. Navigate to Privacy and security > Site and Shields Settings.

  4. Scroll down to Permissions and click on Notifications.

  5. If the Monitoro site is blocked, click on it and change the permission to Allow.

  6. Additionally, ensure that Use Google Cloud Messaging for push notifications is enabled under Privacy and security options if not enabled already.

This ensures that your browser permits Monitoro to send push notifications, keeping you up to date with alerts.

"We're having trouble enabling push notifications."

Do you use Brave or another chrome derivative? You need to enable Google Cloud Push messaging in your settings.

  1. Open the Brave browser on your computer.

  2. Click on the menu icon located in the upper-right corner of the browser window (three horizontal lines or dots).

  3. Select "Settings" from the menu.

  4. In the Settings window, navigate to the "Privacy and security" section on the left sidebar.

  5. Click on "Site and Shields Settings."

  6. Scroll down to the "Permissions" section and click on "Notifications."

  7. Locate the "Google Cloud Messaging" option.

  8. Enable the toggle next to "Google Cloud Messaging" to turn on the feature.
